Mr. Stewart holds a B.S. degree in Geology from Southern Colorado State College - now known as Colorado State University - Pueblo.  He also earned an M.S. degree in Geology from the University of Houston.  Mr. Stewart has recently earned a Master's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nevada, Reno.  Mr. Stewart holds professional teaching licenses in the states of Nevada and Texas.

Welcome to Mr. Stewart's Physical Science

Thank you for visiting my website.  It has been designed and built for the sole purpose of helping students in Nevada pass the High School Proficiency Exam for Science.  This site focuses on scientific inquiry, matter, force & motion, energy, earth science, space science, and science/technology/society.  Life science is not considered.  As you move through the various major categories found above by placing your cursor on the red Home button, you may encounter Power Point files, word documents, and pdf files.

The curriculum outlined on this website consists of Power Point presentations on many subjects.  It has been my experience that high school students react better to learning by lecture if they have some kind of graphic organizer to work with, rather than by taking notes.  As a result, each Power Point on this web site has an accompanying question/answer document that goes with it, so that students can follow along in class and answer the questions as the presentation is gone through, or they can answer the questions at home by accessing the website and the presentations.  There are many student activities included in the curriculum, and I am always looking for more to augment the exploration aspect of learning.  Many helpful worksheets are also included to help students organize their understanding of the many concepts in Physical Science.
